Willie Blackwater was born in 1950 near Clarksdale, Mississippi. His mother sang gospel in a small church, while his father played blues guitar at local juke joints. Willie spent his childhood surrounded by music. At seventeen he left home with nothing but an old guitar. For decades he played small bars, roadside clubs and dusty Mississippi towns. He never became famous. He never wanted to. He simply kept writing songs about love, loss, family, loneliness and life. Now, at 76, Willie has finally started recording the songs he carried inside him for more than half a century.
